Night Time Routines That Reduce Brain Fog

Brain fog is a term that describes a feeling of mental fatigue, confusion, or lack of focus. When we have brain fog, it becomes difficult to do the things we love. One way to reduce brain fog is to improve your sleep quality and sleep duration. Here is a list of 7 nighttime habits that are beneficial to reduce brain fog

1. Stick to a regular sleep schedule. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends. This regular sleep schedule obliterates brain fog, keeping you happy and productive throughout the day.

2. Create a relaxing bedtime routine. Do some activities that help you wind down and prepare for sleep, such as reading a book, meditating, or drinking non-caffeinated tea. This makes falling asleep a breeze, allowing for a quantity of sleep that rejuvenates your body and mind.

3. One cup of coffee contains roughly 95 mg of caffeine. It can take 10 hours to completely metabolize 1 cup of coffee. Because caffeine interferes with not only how fast you fall asleep but also the quality of sleep, avoiding caffeine 10 hours before bed-time is a must

4. Alcohol and cannabis should be avoided within 5 hours of sleep. While they may help you fall asleep faster, the quality of sleep is much lower, once again leaving you tired the next morning.

5. Do not eat large meals 3-4 hours before bed. Eating too much or too late can disrupt your digestion, impact your sleep quality, and cause sleep disruptions due to large fluctuations in blood sugar levels.

6. Limit screen time for at least 2 hours before bed. Screens from devices such as phones, computers, or tablets emit blue light that can suppress the production of melatonin, a hormone that helps you fall asleep and regulate your sleep cycle.

7. Create a comfortable environment in your bedroom. Make sure your bedroom is dark, quiet, cool, and cozy. Use curtains, blinds, or an eye mask to block out any light sources. Adjust the temperature and ventilation to suit your preferences. This prevents sleep disturbances which destroy sleep quality and leave you exhausted and unable to focus the next day

These are some of the nighttime habits that are beneficial to reduce brain fog. By following these tips, you may be able to improve your sleep quality and enhance your brain health.
